Bridal Open House
I recently had the pleasure of working with the North Carolina Museum of History to organize their summer bridal open house. I loved working with Cheri, the museum’s special events director, and all the awesome vendors who helped showcase the museum’s beautiful event space. Local Triangle wedding vendors came together to showcase their work in the museum, and despite the stormy weather we had a great turn out!
The museum of history, located in downtown Raleigh, has several spaces available for rent. We made use of the main lobby for our primary vendor displays, and also opened up the gorgeous glass chandelier room, which is perfect for a cake display!
Emily Katherine Events
We decided to go with a vintage book theme for our Emily Katherine Events table… vintage because History Museum, books because who doesn’t love books??

Vintage book bundles tied together with bits of lace. Roses and babies breath are a simple yet sweet combination.

Reception Displays
One of my tasks in organizing this event was to create a display of four reception tables, each set in a different seasonal theme. I loved working with Wildly Cultivated Floral Designs & Classic Event Rentals to design these tables! Jennifer Brown (Classic Events Rentals) was extremely helpful when I went to their showroom to choose linens and tableware. And Jennifer Pate (Wildly Cultivated Floral Designs) took my vague ideas and color schemes and really knocked the centerpieces out of the park! I added a few thematic place cards, candles, and pinecones, and I was super pleased with the results!

Bold, bright colors on the summer table. Love the shimmer in this tablecloth, giving it a watery feel perfect for summer!

This simple but bold centerpiece is surrounded by votives, adding even more shimmer to this tablescape.
Fall
This one was my sister’s personal favorite (she’s vowed to have this centerpiece at her own wedding!).

Spray painted pinecones and a gold rimmed mirror add to the glamour of the fall flowers in this beautiful centerpiece.
Vintage Bridal Fashion Show
One of the highlights of the evening was the incredible Vintage Bridal Fashion Show, sponsored by Michelle McMurray de Luces of Wedding Story Writer. I had the privilege of meeting Michelle a few months before the event, and she took me to her sotrage unit to go through her wedding dress collection. There were so many great options in her phenomenal collection! We ended up having six models from Models for Charity show off dresses from the 1910s, 1930s & 40s, and the 1960s-80s. The grand staircase became their runway, which is just how a bride and groom could enter their reception, making for a spectacular grand entrance.
