All I’d want is you to be my sweet honey bee…

I’ve had the pleasure now of coordinating both Kasey’s wedding AND her sister Erin’s, and can I just say how much I love this family?! They are just so fun-loving and down to earth! Plus Erin and Kasey both have the most contagious laughter, so that’s just fun to be around.

Kasey and her sister got engaged around the same time, and I was thrilled when Kasey reached out to me about wedding coordination. Even more thrilled when she started to fill me in on her wedding details. I mean, when you hear that a wedding will have a “subtle bee theme”, you get a little excited, right? Kasey’s new last name is “Beeson”, so it’s convenient that she already had an affinity for honeybees. This subtle theme came through in her yellow color scheme, with bees and honeycomb patterns popping up in the decor.

Myers Park Methodist Church Wedding

After a beautiful church ceremony at Myers Park Methodist Church, Kasey and Luke joined their families at The Duke Mansion for their reception. The Duke Mansion is a GORGEOUS venue! Historic, elegant, and beautifully landscaped. Duke Mansion took care of the food, table layout, and Kasey and Luke’s guests actually stayed at the Mansion- super convenient! I love when venues have built-in accommodations. It makes the whole weekend feel like a big family reunion.

Kasey and her sister’s weddings were suuuuper different, but they did have one common factor (besides the guest list). Erin’s mom made each of them an amazing quilt for guests to sign in place of a traditional guestbook! I was super impressed, I mean these were huge quilts and the weddings were less than a year apart! Meanwhile my sewing machine is gathering dust…

I love this alternative guestbook idea. Something meaningful (made by mom!), and something that they will actually use in their home. Naturally Kasey’s quilt had bees on it.
